This blog was created to keep a record of the progression of Bar Mix Magazine, a graded unit project I'm creating at The City of Glasgow College 2011/2012 for a HND Media and Communications course.
The magazine is for bar staff in Glasgow and will cover a range of topics from employee rights to premium spirits and cocktails on the market. The magazines USP is that it will be local, interested in purely staff in Glasgow and there is no popular publication read throughout by mainstream bar staff. Also the articles will be written by bar staff.
I have worked in the industry for many years working my way up to assistant manager in a city centre venue, so I have experience and knowledge of bar work and my target audience. Due to this I also have a wide range of contacts that I can call on to make this publication a success. Fingers crossed...
